Berlin, Germany: a place where history, architecture, and culture collide in the most unpredictable ways. If Munich’s landmarks feel like they belong in a fairytale, Berlin is more of a gritty history book with graffiti in the margins—and that’s exactly why it’s one of the best cities to visit in Germany.
This gallery is my visual journey through must-see landmarks and some amazing hidden gems in Berlin. I grudgingly concede that the city might not appeal to everyone. However, for me, I would've stayed longer—were it not for a pesky expiry date on my visa. The culture, architecture, and history all passed the vibe check. Plus, the greenspace of Tiergarten is a true calming oasis right in the heart of Germany.
Among the locations that grabbed my attention:
The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, a haunting mix of war history and modern reconstruction, stands as a stark reminder of the past.
The Jewish Memorial (Holocaust Memorial) forces you to pause—not just for a photo, but to truly take in its profound meaning. Brandenburg Gate, perhaps Berlin’s most famous landmark, towers over Pariser Platz, marking the city’s resilience through centuries of change.
And then there’s Sanssouci Palace in nearby Potsdam—because, apparently, even Prussian kings needed a summer escape filled with over-the-top Rococo architecture.
Berlin isn’t just about its historical landmarks. It’s a city where you can explore Berlin street art in Kreuzberg, stroll through the Unter den Linden boulevard, and then grab a currywurst at a stand that’s probably been around longer than you.
Whether you're searching for things to do in Berlin Germany, crafting your Berlin travel itinerary, or looking for the best photography spots in Berlin, this gallery gives you a glimpse of the Berlin must-see attractions that define this unforgettable city.
