Munich, Germany: home to breathtaking Bavarian architecture, world-class beer, and more tourists than my elbows could deal with. I visited during peak summer, which meant dodging selfie sticks and weaving through Marienplatz crowds like it was an Olympic sport. But honestly? Worth it.

Munich Aesthetic: The Hits Keep Coming

The Diana Temple in Hofgarten felt straight out of a royal fantasy—assuming that fantasy included at least three couples taking engagement photos at any given moment. The Frauenkirche, Munich’s iconic twin-towered cathedral, made me reconsider all my past thoughts on Gothic architecture.

Nymphenburg Palace was so grand that I briefly debated my chances of squatting there unnoticed. And then there’s Theatinerkirche, the baroque masterpiece standing proudly in its unapologetic yellow glory, proving that Munich churches don’t believe in subtlety.

Beyond the landmarks, the entire city seems like it was designed to look stunning from every angle. Walking through the English Garden, grabbing a pretzel at Viktualienmarkt, and admiring the Odeonsplatz architecture all made me realize that Munich really leans into its Bavarian fairytale aesthetic.

Whether you’re planning a Munich Germany travel itinerary, searching for things to do in Munich, or just here for the aesthetic (no shame), I hope this gallery convinces you that Munich places to visit are almost annoyingly photogenic.

This gallery is a tribute to my time spent wandering Munich's hidden gems (and some not-so-hidden ones). I'll be adding to this page as I trawl through the thousands of photos we've taken over the years. Be sure to check back!
